Travis Barker's Tattoos - The Tale of the Tattoos

Originally the drummer for the American rock band, The Aquabats, Travis Barker replaced Scott Raynor as the drummer for American punk band, Blink-182 in 1998.

Even though his band is known for their pop punk music, Travis Barker has proven to be a versatile drummer, having participated in numerous music projects spanning a wide range of genre like ska, pop, hip hop, punk rock, and even country.

Perhaps what makes Travis memorable in the minds of people is the Travis Barker tattoos. These tattoos are part and parcel of the whole Barker package, since his body is covered with it. He usually performs shirtless, hence exposing the Travis Barker tattoos for all to see.

According to Barker, there is a simple explanation as to his decision to cover his body with tattoos. He said that he purposely had tattoos etched all over his body so that he could not live a normal life with a normal job and thus play music all his life.

Barker had his first tattoo when he was 17 years old. He had the word "BONES," which was his nickname as a kid, etched on his leg.

Most of his tattoos are religious in nature, since he had a Catholic upbringing. Examples of these Catholic Travis Barker tattoos include a portrait of Jesus located above his left biceps and the Sacred Heart.

Aside from Catholic-inspired tattoos, Barker's love for cars is also evident on his body art. He especially loves Cadillacs, as evidenced by two racing flags located on the side of his neck. It also has the number 66, symbolizing the year of his favorite Cadillac.

Another Cadillac-inspired tattoo is a Cadillac emblem etched on his chest, plus the word "Cadillac" found on the side of his body.

Travis also has tattoos pertaining to his love for music. There is a microphone and a boom box tattoo on his stomach, symbolizing Travis Barker's love for break dancing.

He also has a tribute for the Descendents, in the image of their "I Don't Want to Grow Up" album, tattooed on his leg.

Names of Barker's family can also be found tattooed all over his body. He has "Mom" on his nape, "Melissa" on the side of his neck, and "Landon" located on his left wrist.

Lucky charms are tattooed on his right arm, which he considers his good luck arm.
