Create Personalized Art by Pairing Stencils With Words

Try pairing some stencil art with words. I mean, we are talking about making our homes personal, right? And how better to do that than with words that mean something to us or describe how we see ourselves? You can put just one word on your print or a famous saying. Here are just a few ways to create stencil art with words:

Names are the number one way to personalize our spaces. Paint your name and then put a stenciled image on top or below. It's easy to find a stencil design that we can identify with. Maybe it's fairies or a particular animal. This is a great way to decorate a child's room. Picture a little boy's name with sports images all around or a little girl's name and some princess or ballerina items for embellishment.

Decorating a kitchen? Find some food related stencil designs and write the words across the painted image. Be bold and use some off beat colors, too. What about a wine bottle and the word "Vino" along the side. So, your style is a little more old fashioned? How about some tea cups and tea pots with the words "Tea Time" underneath?

Into Gardening? You can find some great flower stencils. Consider painting the plant or flower designs with the names just below. If you want to keep it in a feminine style, think about painting the plant name in a ribbon cascading above the painted image.

Try writing a collection of inspirational words and placing a painted stencil design on top of them. Maybe you like Shakespeare and some great phrase of his inspires you. Write them out on a surface (wall, furniture, paper, T shirt) and then paint a stenciled image on top or next to the words. You can paint the words horizontally across your surface, or vertically or even diagonally. You're the boss so use your creativity!

Well, I could go on but I think you get the idea. I hope that now you have some great ideas about how you can decorate with stencil art by adding your own words. You are only limited by your own imagination (and I know there is no limit there). You can choose the size, colors, theme, framing...Let's face it - you are in charge. So go get 'em!
