Paint Or Wallpaper - Which is Right For Your House?

Nowadays, it is so hard for every hopeful homeowner to construct a house of his own. Given that the materials are already too expensive and the professional fees of the builders are skyrocketing, you would surely think twice if you will pursue your plans or not. However, aside from the costs involved, you would also have to consider that durability of the house. The time span of your very first home renovation project is important since this will only mean another expense for you. Because the walls of any structure are integral parts of any structure, you must know what is best for you, if you are going to paint them or use wallpapers.

Normally, contractors will suggest if you have larger walls, painting is the best choice. You know why? It is because placing wallpaper is very impractical and time-consuming. Sometimes, wallpapers are the first ones that get damaged due to daily wear and tear. In times like this, you have to pick the most economical option.

Since durability is one of the very essential factors, walls that are painted are considered to be long lasting. But this is only applicable if you used the right kind of paint. Enamel, acrylic and latex are the basic types of paint that are usually out in the market. The much safer of them is the latex since it has non-combustible feature. But this is not advisable on glossy surface because it can easily fade over the time.

Oil-based paints are much "user-friendly." However, chalking is number one problem of these paints. And once they fade, you will have a hard time renewing them to the original color. So, before doing any home upgrade, make sure to consult the experts when it comes to painting the walls.

Enamel, on the other hard, is the most difficult to use. But as soon as you have it on the wall, you can notice the glossiness of your walls. They look classy and contemporary.

Take note that when you paint it should be done at the right season. If you do it during cold weather, paint will not stick to the wall. Thus, it will only fade over time. Aside from that, avoid having moisture on the wall because they can have small stains that can ruin the entire look. Sometimes it is so hard to get rid of those stains.

Alternatively, if you prefer to use wallpapers, you can have all the chance to pick lovely design, shade, texture and more. It is more of a custom-made wall. There is a personal touch on its appearance.

However, the lovely appearance is not that easy to attain. Take note that wallpapers are hard to install. It needs a lot of effort and time before you can finally say it is done. It is also so hard to clean especially if they have markings or stains on them. If you have young children at home, this is really not a good idea for you.

Wallpapers and paints can have their advantages and disadvantages. The final decision will still depend on you. So make sure to weigh every option to arrive at the appropriate choice for your house.
